A long association of McLean and Associates with African leaders made Walter a valuable asset from mining executive and to be his advisor on governmental relations, black empowerment and corporate social responsibility. Environmental, civil society and cultural issues were seen as important to the company’s success in Africa.

Walter connects people and he has designed and implemented unique programs of frequent luncheon round tables for a university executive. These brought together decision-makers from across a region.
